How Our R&D Tax Specialist Matching Works
Our matching works in four steps: you tell us about your company, we check the basics, we introduce you to up to 3 vetted specialists who fit your sector, and you decide whether to appoint any of them. It is free for businesses and you are never obliged to go ahead.
You send an enquiry
The form asks for your sector, region, rough R&D spend and a line on what you are working on. No documents needed.
We review it
We check whether your work sounds like R&D, whether a claim notification might be due and which scheme is likely.
We introduce specialists
With your consent, we pass your enquiry to up to 3 panel firms with relevant sector experience.
You choose
Firms contact you directly, explain their approach and put fees in writing. You appoint one, or none.
What happens after you appoint a firm?
After you appoint a firm, your relationship is with that firm. It will send an engagement letter, interview your technical team, review your costs and prepare the claim. You stay responsible for your company's return, so read the claim before it goes in. If you are unhappy with a firm we introduced, please tell us: we use feedback to decide who stays on the panel.
What if your work does not qualify?
If your work clearly does not meet the definition of R&D, we will tell you rather than pass you on. If it is borderline, a specialist can give a view, and HMRC's advance assurance services may help.
Frequently asked questions
How long does matching take?
We aim to review enquiries promptly on working days. If you have a deadline, say so on the form and we will prioritise it.
Will lots of firms call me?
No. We share your details with no more than 3 firms, and only after you tick the consent box.
Can I ask for a particular firm?
Yes. Mention it in the message box and we will introduce that panel firm if it fits.
Get matched with a vetted R&D tax specialist
Tell us what you do and roughly what you spend on development. We check the basics, then introduce you to a specialist from our panel whose sector experience fits your work.
- Free to use, with no obligation to appoint anyone
- Introductions only to firms that meet our panel criteria
- Fee terms in writing from the firm before you sign anything
- We flag claim deadlines we can see from your answers
Our matching service is free for businesses. Specialist firms on our panel pay us a fee when we introduce a business to them. That fee does not change the price a firm quotes you, and you are never obliged to appoint anyone we introduce.
